Christmas Greetings and other items of interest

Christmas is fast approaching and this will be my last post of 2011 but there will be some exciting (hopefully) images early in the new year. I was in our nation’s capital last week and couldn’t help but admire how Centre Block was lit up with red, green and snowflake spotlights.
I have been encouraged to get a stall at the Orillia Farmer’s Market over the last year and in November we finally took the plunge. For the past 5 Saturdays, we have been with other vendors in the Orillia City Centre with a variety of my prints and images. The support has been truly awesome and I sincerely appreciate all the visitors who stopped by to comment and/or purchase my offerings. In early October I blogged about the availability of this years calendar and by week 3 I was completely sold out. I have also sold notecards, bird logs and a number of prints in all sizes, some framed, some mounted on mat board and canvas. I am encouraged enough to return to the market later this winter.
I hope you enjoy this post and have a very Merry Christmas and a healthy and happy New Year!

Project Feederwatch is going strong with the regular visitors and new arrivals, Hairy and Downy Woodpeckers and finally a White-breasted Nuthatch. The only unusual sightings have been the trio of Cardinals, 2 males and 1 female and 2 pair of Purple Finches. Now if only those darn cats would stay away.
One of my new years resolutions is to go beyond bird photography and explore other areas including macro and landscape. On one of our nicer days in November, I explored the area around our home and found a number of interesting subjects.
