Nemesis no longer?
Nemesis no longer?
Tuesday, 16 August, 2011
It’s been a very busy time these last three weeks with not much opportunity to keep my blog up-to-date.
During those 3 weeks, I was able to get to my favourite Kingfisher haunt this time with my Kwik blind and a larger lens. The problem with this location is that there are many different perches that can and are used by the Kingfishers. So it is really a matter of chance whether or not I would be successful. Not long after my arrival, a Kingfisher landed on a hydro wire quite a distance from where I sat patiently. After 45 minutes it landed on one of my target perches with a crayfish in its beak. I proceeded to take my images when horror of horrors, I received an ‘error 02’ on my camera’s LCD! I keep trying to take images but still received the error message. I changed cards after the Kingfisher left confident that another would return.
Another Kingfisher did appear for a short time and I was able to get some more images. In a post that I did last year on August 30, I identified the Kingfisher as one of my nemesis birds, should it still be on that list? You be the judge!
ps. The good folks at Delkin are sending me a new card, thank goodness it didn’ thave 32GB worth of data on it!
